Within the scope of "Wednesday Conferences" in our faculty, Chancellor of Irak al-Tanmiye al-Beshariyya University, Prof. Dr. Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed gave a conference on “Creation of the Universe”. His speech was in Arabic which was translated into Turkish by Abdülmelik Yangin.
Explaining the creation of the universe with the Bang Theory, Prof. Dr. Meriwan Rasheed underlined that basic questions such as what was the situation before the creation of the universe, who carried out the creation work and what was the purpose of the creation of the universe were clearly explained by the prophets. Afterwards, referring to the answers given by the philosophers to these questions, Prof. Dr. Meriwan Rasheed stated that most medieval philosophers believed that the universe had a creator. Stating that atheist philosophers and scientists who lived in later periods put forward theories and views that have no scientific basis in order to avoid the idea that the universe has a creator, Prof. Dr. Meriwan elaborated on some of these theories and views, revealing their invalidity. Prof. Dr. Meriwan Ahmed Rasheed also touched upon the works written on the creation of the universe and evaluated them.
