Prof. Dr Ahmet Bostancı Made Statements About Islamophobic Attacks

The Dean Prof. Dr Ahmet Bostancı joined the Diyanet TV news bulletin on Thursday, October 29, 2020, via Skype, and made statements about the recent increasing Islamophobic attacks. He also and the week of Mawlid al-Nābī. In his speech, he reiterated the fact that the Islamophobic attacks, especially in France and Germany and the disrespect attitudes towards our Prophet primarily target Islam and aim to provoke Muslims. The time of that attacks took place just before the week of Mawlid al-Nabi also saddened Muslims. He further stated that “it is a complete contradiction that Europe accuse those who speak on specific issues, for example, those who criticize Jews as anti-Semitic and those who make talks about homosexuals as sexist. Thus, I expect Europe to abandon this attitude that contradicts with its values. ​​He continued to state that Muslims should respond to such attacks within legitimate limits. He further said that because of the economic, technological and cultural backwardness and weakness of the Islamic World, these reactions are not taken into consideration. When the Islamic world is economically and culturally strengthened and unified, the responses can be much more effective.
