The Second Workshop on Today's Tafsir Problems Was Held

Organized in collaboration with our Faculty and the Journal of Tafsir Studies (TADER), the Second Workshop on Today's Tafsir Problems was held online on June 30, 2020, with the theme of "Tafsir and Social Problems".The primary aim of the workshop was to establish the problems Muslims faced in light of tafsir discipline in this direction to find solutions and to discuss diverse approaches in this direction. The chancellor Prof Dr Fatih Savasan, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, academicians from different universities and postgraduate students, were present there.

The workshop started with the recitation of the Qur'an by Musa Özis, the head of the department of Tafsir, Ali Karatas, gave information about the workshop. There were four sessions.

 

The first session moderated by Prof Cafer Karadas. Associated Dr Fatih Ibis presented a paper on "An Atheist's Concept of the Qur'an". Assistant Professor Bayram Demircigil's paper on "Theological Problems in Contemporary Tafsir: A case of Manar" was the primary paper of the second session, moderated by Burhan Baltaci. Moreover, Prof Dr Necmettin Gokkir presented a paper about "The Subject Problem in Contemporary Tafsir" in the third session, which Prof Dr Ismail Caliskan moderated. 

The workshop's closing session was made by the Dean, Prof Dr Ahmet Bostanci. The workshop ended by Ilyas Sanli's recitation of the Qur'an.
